So....my brother with the no internets asks me if this an issue. I don't have an AR10 so I have no idea. He called a vendor and they said he may need a new/ heavier buffer.

What does the hive mind say?

Thanks,
mike

To use the UBR stock with a 308, you'll need a 308 carbine length buffer spring and buffer, that Magpul stock comes with it's own buffer tube. The carbine buffer for the 308 is shorter than the version for the A2 stock.

As treehugger said you use the dpms lr308 carbine buffer and spring. I have a ubr on my tm10 and love it. Balances an 18" barrel quite nicely.

When it comes to .308 AR's stocks it's what you put in them that matters. I've ran a URB on my .308 AR in the past and it ran great.
