about the Wildlife commissioner legally killing a mountain lion. This is in the U-T (tell us about it column) this morning. You can vote at www.utsandiego.com/tell-us or call 619-293-2506 or 1-800-BIG-NEWS ext. 2506. They ask that for one vote per person so we all know what to do. :43:

WOW I just clicked on it myself and got the same thing. Then I clicked on the comments button and read the comments that said the paper and online question never match so now I am going to call the numbers. I guess they really don't want to know. Just keep trying maybe they are slow on changing the online content. Well at least the numbers work.

i wonder how they'll manage to spin this one. UT has a long anti-gun history.

As I noted in my comment - I don't believe the guy ATE the mountain lion. Way to word the question though to make his actions seem abhorrent.

Richards did eat some of the lion. As it should be.

Now there's a new meaning to the usual "but, what about the kittens?" theme... :)

If you're going to kill something, you should eat it. I wonder how mountain lion tastes.

The Union Tribune...VERY Liberal paper. They actually had a section last voting season as to who and what THEY recommend voting for. Here is one they said vote NO on-Homeowner assistance loan program for Veterans.
I dont know what their issue is lately, but I had one of them knock on my door INSISTING to talk me into getting a subscription to that paper. I have a no soliciting sign, AND I said NO read the sign at least three times...."But sir, I just want"...Okay, rant over.

I like your thinking clbshooter. Between the two, I read North County Times, which seems more balanced

I can care less.
It was legal to do so.
I dont see any harm in this.

It is legal in Idaho to hunt mountain lions under the usual hunting restrictions. The commissioner obeyed the law. Unless I hear more, I don't see anything wrong with obeying the law.

If the law in Idaho is a bad law, well then maybe we have something here. But I want to know WHY. Merely because something is illegal in California doesn't mean it should be illegal everywhere, or is inherently wrong. It's even possible that California's law is bad, and hunting mountain lions should be legal here. But I don't know anything about it.

It is reported that it tastes like pork tenderloin. I believe this is what the guy who shot the lion stated.

I wonder how many of the people screaming about this have done any of the following:

Gambled in a non-Indian casino outside of the State of California
Driven the legal speed limit for vehicles on the Interstate Freeways of Arizona (that's 75, IIRC)
Taken possession of items made from kangaroo leather

I could list thousands of other things that are legal in other states, but not legal in CA...

Told them I don't care.

Not that it will do much good. Hippies have to much power in this state.

I am pissed about it, he should have killed some of them in THIS state! Let Idaho deal with their own lions, we need to kill off the population of them in this state first.

These are the same people that want his hyde for hunting legal game in another state, but they don't care that Federal law says MJ is illegal. Not intending to get a discussion going on weather or not MJ should be legal or not. Just saying! I voted just now and it is still 75% no.

I know, the law of the West is "you kill it, you eat it"

I'd shoot the crap out of coyotes too but I wouldn't eat them. To each his own...

another example of the hysteria and overreaching attitude of the California state legislature. they think their authority over California residents should reach nationwide...

as far as i'm concerned Dan Richards did no wrong...it's the legislature that should be penalized.

now...if the f&g commissioner of Louisiana was complaining that Louisiana hunters are going to Florida to hunt 'gators...LOL...know what i mean?
