I've got a .40 S&W that I haven't shot in about 3 yrs. I'm planning to take it for some desert fun this weekend. I've got some questions that may seem mundane to some of you more experienced folk, but I need to learn somewhere:facepalm:

1. Aside from a normal cleaning/inspection of the pistol, is there anything I should do since it has not been fired in so long?

2. Is there any concern about using ammo that I've also had sitting in the ammo box for the last 3 yrs? I've heard concerns raised about "old ammo" causing misfires, but wasn't sure how old is considered "too" old.

Input/experience is appreciated. Thanks!

spacewench,

Welcome to Calguns! Just make sure your gun is clean and lubed, and that you have enough ammo for your trip. :)
