So I want replace my muzzle brake on my wasr10 ak. Im lookin to get a ak74 type brake. Problem is I cant get the old slant brake off. Its not welded on as far as I can see, if it is the welder deserves a metal cuz theres no sign of a tac weld ne where. I pressed the detent pin on the fsb and grip with some pliers and turn, but it wont budge, in either direction. I need aome sugestions of how to get this off

Heat, or CLP. Sometimes they are a B*** to get off.

If you dont care about the slant brake, good pair of vice grips, set TIGHT on the brake, and slap that thing with a good hammer blow.
Obviously make sure the rifle is secured. SOmetimes a little shock and awe is whats needed.
Spray on some PB Blaster or Kroil and let sit overnight, then hit it with some heat. Put it in a vice with leather padding the front sight block and crank it to the right.

Like 68Datsun said above, make sure you are going the right way on the left hand threads.
Like dad always told me when I was learing to wrench on cars. "It's tight enough boy. Any tighter and you'll never get it off."
