View Full Version : What's the reasonable price?

What would be a reasonable price for a used 16" midlenght BCM government profiled barrel? Has around 3k rounds through her but has been kept clean after each range trip.
I'm thinking of going lightweight on my AR and pondering on whether I should just sell the barrel or the whole upper with the bcg, or just have it reprofiled.
BCM LW barrels are currently out of stock, so that's another issue to consider.

400 tops, if its a complete upper with quality parts.
i think you could get about $450 for it if it has a bcm bcg. 3k rounds is nothing.

He did say " barrel" not upper?

Barrels are consumables, so you won't get much if anything for a run-of-the-mill 16" M4 profile with 3k rounds through it.
The weight difference between that and a pencil-barrel? Maybe 8oz.

Sorry for the late response. Thanks for your feedbacks. Since 3k rounds is nothing on the barrel life, I guess I'm better off having it re-profiled than selling. I got this upper during the Obama scare, so some of you probably know how much it was.

A reprofile will cost you upwards of $100.
You can sell your existing upper for over $300, add in the $100 you would have spent on a reprofile and you've got over $400. Enough to buy a brand new upper.
