View Full Version : Built a Semi Lightweight - Happier

just got hold of a 16" carbine last week with the moe handguard. noticed how this build is noticeably lighter than my first cqc midlength rifle which was a bear to carry because of how heavy it is. now i don't have time to hit the gym, but my initial attempt to build a hefty AR with the assumption that weight equals quality and reassurance has backfired, haha.

i've noticed going lightweight has been a prevailing trend, and legitimately so. less weight is more comfortable to hold and to maneuver for sight acquisition and reloading.

here's a quick pic of the new carbine, along with my other stuff in ascending order by weight. :p

I built my AR with a 20 inch bull barrel. It weighs 10 pounds.

I am considering buying a carbine upper for it because ... 10 pounds!

thx guys.

yeah, right?! you'll find every little excuse to build another one. it's madness! and i've been bringing these guys out to the range almost every weekend, not easy on the wallet either. :P
