I was told today by the manager (black shirt), that since they don't have them in stock yet, all they need is 30% up front. So if I get two would I only have to pay DROS ($25) and handling fee ($5) once?

I think $99.95 would be the price they would charge normally off-sale, and the price they'll carry it at after the sale. I wouldn't expect them to carry it at the originally low price of the manufacturer, and after fees and taxes it's still at least somewhat cheaper than paying Palmetto price + FFL + shipping.

We are well-warned that it will be some time before the lowers come into stock. Does anyone really need to start their AR build on a lower they didn't know would be available in exactly 10 days? I am just glad that the cheap lower is available for me to eventually pick up and use on a later build.

Looking at my invoice, I didn't get charged for DROS, DOJ fees, or the handling fee for the second lower.

If your post was deleted, or in the case of shooterdude, whose multiple posts were deleted; it was for threadcrapping. Do not do it.

If you do not want to buy from them or any other vendor, don't buy. It really is that simple.

Let me help you out buddy.

$79.98 x 2 + $5 ("Turners Handling Fee") = $164.96 (this is your taxable product)
+ 8.75% Sales Tax here in LA County = $14.44
+ $25.00 DROS
= $204.40 for two lowers

Same question. I paid mine in full instead of a deposit. Will people who paid in full get priority for the lowers? I also have a deposit on a rifle and in stock in the warehouse. May I add that (granted I pay if off in full at time of DROS) to the DROS of these lowers. Thanks in advance.

I think it would be fair if the people who only put down a deposit aren't able to finish paying at the time the lowers are in and ready to be DROSed, tho. Since these people would have to wait anyway, people who are paid up should get to move ahead in line. Does that seem fair?

Not at all. You are assuming that the people who left a deposit can't, for whatever reason, pay the rest when they get the call. The ONLY way I can see this as fair is if Turners asks the people who left a deposit would be willing to give up their place in line. I don't, however, see this as happening so it's a moot point.

Yeah its not going to happen, its going to be in order by the time the deposit or full amount was placed so if you were the 100th person to pay it full you will be the 100th person in line

Not assuming anything, I said IF they can't finish up the payment and start the DROS. If they can't, how long would Turners have to wait for them to pay up before bumping them back in line and allowing someone who is paid up to start their DROS? Or how about if they just miss the phone call that the lowers are in and don't check their voice mail?

No clue. But the same could be said for people who have paid 100% and missed the call or didn't check voice mail. How long should they wait?

I was asking about people who missed the call in general, not just people who paid in full or not. I just think it's reasonable to for people to make a concerted effort to keep on top of being ready when the lowers come in when they are part of a queue that has been eagerly waiting.

Ah, I saw that you had specifically mentioned people who did not pay in full who might not be able to pay the remainder.

I do agree that there should be a limit though. If you don't start your DROS within X amount of time you essentially get moved back.

http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/firearms/receivers/psa-ar15-lower.html

You're looking at:
$79.95 for the lower
$10 for shipping
~$7 tax
~$45 transfer fee
$25 FBI fee.
For a total of About $170 for one lower if you were to order off the PSA site.

That's compared to the ~$117 I payed for the first lower at turners. Pretty substantial savings.

I was thinking about ordering a PSA lower until I ran through the math. They go on sale for $50 on the PSA site sometimes and you might be able to save $5-10 on the FFL transfer fee but even then you're still paying ~$10 more best case scenario.

any update on what stores got them in stock? no calls from my local san marcos. do you think they will call?

The first 200 are here. The warehouse will get them processed; once they've got them processed, we'll notify stores for allocation.

As always, deposits will be filled first deposit/first served basis without distinction of paid in full or not.

If a customer does not pay in full within 30 days of notification, we'll either cancel that layaway and assign that gun to another waiting layaway if we have any unfilled deposits at that point in time. (Our layaway is 30 days, but we won't start the clock on a gun that we don't have in stock.)

Yep, I have gotten calls from the Pasadena store before. I probably wouldn't be so peeved but I was just there YESTERDAY putting a deposit in for another gun (during which they confirmed my number) and asked if the lowers were in yet. They said they weren't in and didn't know when they would be. Kinda disappoints me that no one would think to call me after buying another gun and asking about the lowers so recently. I am not going to yell "YOU'RE CUTTING!" to others who pick up before me, but I still feel pretty disregarded.

Did my DROS on Sunday at the Pasadena store. Waiting about an hour before they got to me. Everyone was buying guns ahead of me. Anyway got everything squared away and pickup on the 11th. :)

No call from Kearny Mesa yet.

You might want to give them a call and ask about the status. I'm not sure when mine would have gone through had I not stopped by the store to ask what was up. I think it's difficult for them to maintain a proper batting order with their system as it is, so they may need a little polite nudge.

I ordered 2 lowers on 3/3 at 10am and I noticed someone else that ordered theirs from the Orange Turner's on 3/8 got a call already. So I just stopped by and they said mine are not in yet! I guess it doesn't work first come first serve like I was told.

Yep, things are rough right now; a phone call should get it done. If you run into snags get an e-mail to Rob Z. (robz@turners.com) for an assist.

Ordered and paid for my 2 on 3-3-12 @ 11 am in San Marcos. Called today and told me they haven't figured who they are going to or when they might get the dros started. Plus they told me I might not get in on this allotment.

Not to rub dirt in people's eyes but I DROS'd my lower about 9 days ago. Since Turner's Pasadena closes @ 6PM tomorrow I'll have to pick it up Sunday. Ah well.

Just got my lowers! Less than 5 minutes wait to begin the process even with Turner's Pasadena being crowded with people who couldn't get in yesterday. Half an hour later I was out with 2 lowers and a new gun cabinet. Marion and Sean made everything a breeze and were helpful and knowledgeable, as usual.

The lowers look great! No flaws at all that I could see. Good luck to everyone else!

FYI, they had 2 more of the Stack-on cabinets in stock at $99.99.

My mistake for trying to pick up my lower after work today at the Torrance store. I pulled #86 and they were only on #69. I gave it 40 minutes and then left while they were only on #72. Only 4 guys at the gun counter. All I wanted to do was pick up. Should have been in and out in 10 minutes. Why can't I do a pick up at the register? That would have been convenient/faster.

Watch for people leaving in anger and ask for their number. It may be lower than the one you pulled. Check the floor too and the area around the front door.

Good idea. I'll try that. I'm going back at noon  Wish me luck.

I figured monday was going to be a nightmare with the triple whammy of the previous (weekend) day being closed, the first orders of 10/22 takedowns being let out of jail, and lots of lowers finally getting released. I think I only got in and out as quickly as I did because I went on my lunch.

Back yet? Damage report!

Got in at 12:45 and out at 2pm. Would have been longer if the 5 other people in front of me hadn't left. I knew it was going to take at least an hour again so I went to Chick-Fil-A and had lunch after I got my number.

I called a few weeks back and got a "don't call us, we'll call you" response from an impatient employee so that's what I've been doing. Luckily I'm not in any big rush to build anything on these lowers. This is my first transaction at the Kearny Mesa store, the two times I put deposits the customer service was great. I'll drop in sometime this week to sort it out and hopefully start the DROS.

My brother also ordered a lower on this special at the Chino Hills store. Never received a call, when he dropped in earlier this week they pulled out a box of lowers, when asked why he never got a call they said they 'just came in yesterday'.

From what I've seen Turners Corporate does their part to service customers and straighten out issues, but from experience at the retail level (and warehouse level from what I've read here) they leave much to be desired. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt as I understand they're adapting to a new system. Luckily I'm a patient man.:)

Edit: Called and they apparently don't have the lowers in yet.

So the flyer says ETA on first shipment is 3 weeks. People who bought their's after me have gotten a call. It's been 7 weeks since I paid in full for two lowers and no phone call for me. How do I get a refund?
