Im looking to get a light and portable dead accurate bolt action rifle, i have heard a lot of great things about savage these days and wanted to see what you guys think about the new savage PC (precision carbine)?
has anyone fired it or seen how accurate it is?
Its either between that or the new TC disillusion which is cheaper and has a little bit more features.

Savage is awesome. I have had the chance to shoot a few. The only thing is aftermarket support where Remy wins...However, I am looking at the Savage FCP-SR...Just to be different.
I am going to go look at some in a few weeks since I need to get a precision rifle again. This time I will never sell it again.

+1 on Savage, for an out of the box inexpensive rifle, they just shoot well.

Word on the street is the accu stock that comes on the pc is all marketing hype. They have some flex and spread apart when not torqued correctly. Certainly get a savage but go with something in a laminate stock of the model 10 variety. Boyds makes great cheap stocks if you choose a rifle that doesn't have one. I have a model 10 LE that stacks 168 smk at 100 yards and will shoot the eye out of a rabbit at 200.
If you can swing it the model 12 ftr is about the best thing you can get out of the box. I sold mine a couple years ago and deeply regret it. 7" groups at 1k yards!

Yeah I've seen those, the problem with the FTR for me is the pushing 13 lbs and that's to heavy to use hunting. What else would be a good choice to besides the savage precision carbine?

The 20" Remington 700's are the closest equivalent I can think of, at least in 308.
This is what you were looking at, yes, not the 10 rd DBM variant?
I'd buy another Savage any day. I have 2 20" FP10 LE1A's and a 26" 12FVSS, but the Remington has a well deserved reputation as well.

I have owned the 10pc for almost 4 years and haven't had any issues with the accustock. Back then I did a lot of research and back and forth between the savage and the remington 700, and I've been very happy with my choice.

I am a proud owner of Savage FCP-K in 300 winmag,1" out of the box,1/2" with reloads, ACCU, trigger, stock, muzzle brake hit yote at 580 yards ,deer at 300. Made a mistake, bought Tikka3 Sporter can't shoot my Savage anymore :).

Yeah I know and I like how changing barels is way easier on the savages than the remmy. How is the magazine length in the savage pc? Because I'm a reloader and I dont want to be restricted on bullet seat length.

Yeah Brian that's the savage I was looking at, I really like that SPS tactical and the price from buds. I bought my browning BAR safari from there which is just a killer rifle! Highly recommend that gun. How's the trigger on the Remington SPS tac?
