View Full Version : FFL Sales Tax Collection for Online Orders

So I found a rifle I really want on gunbroker.com, and it is located in So Cal.

I know that FFLs have to collect tax on guns ordered online, but does that pertain to in-state sales as well? Has anyone here ordered their gun online from a seller in CA?

If you order it from a CA retailer and are charged sales tax, the receiving FFL shouldn't charge you again. Just make sure you have your own copy of the receipt to prove you already paid the sales tax.

A used gun from an in-state, non-FFL, seller should not have tax charged.
