View Full Version : New guy question
So if my gun is in my car because I'm going to the range that day, I have to have it in a locked hard case. What about when you get to the indoor range? Do I have take the locked box and my range bag in or can I take the gun out of the box, put the lock on the gun and put it in my range bag?

Welcome to Calguns. A trunk, where the rear seats don't fold down allowing access from the cars interior, is considered a locked container. You would need a locking box if you had a hatchback, truck or a car with fold down rear seats. Check with the range you want to use to be sure but most only want it to be in a case or bag (unloaded) when you come inside.
^ Good info there.Welcome aboard !
Thanks for the info and thanks for the welcoming. I joined the site a year or so ago but just recently bought my first gun and am now addicted to it. Thanks again!
