According to http://www.calguns.net/a_california_arak.htm

It states the following:

NEVER HAVE AN OFF-LIST LOWER RECEIVER WITH AN OPEN MAGAZINE WELL AND A PISTOL GRIP OR FOLDING (etc.) STOCK STILL ATACHED - EVEN FOR A MOMENT!!

Is this still accurate? Its to my understanding that as long as the rifle, in this case let's say an OLL AR with a Bullet Button, is unable to accept detachable magazines, it is compliant.

Any additional thoughts or corrections?

Wow...that's a REALLY old page you have dug up...

My guess is that you have a blind link to it (i.e. its not really intended to be a source of information anymore.)

yes, things have changed and that is no longer believed to be true.

I believe its been supplanted by the CalGuns Foundation Wiki
http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/Off_List_Lowers_%28OLL/OLR%29

I searched for links to that on Google and they mostly come up from 2006. I don't think there are any current links to it, but I guess it should be a redirect now.

There's a link to it on the calguns.net homepage under OLL FAQ on the bottom right. This is before you enter the forum.

Maybe it would be good for someone to update that homepage with newer links to the wiki or something?

I dont mean to hijack this thread, but last night I was reading a few very old pages about mag rebuild kits (2006ish) on CG's. The info was saying CAL DOJ had testified about clarification on "permanence" on rebuild kits and said something to the extent of, Rivets and epoxy or several 1/2" beads of weld on floor plates. Anyone have any updated info on this ?

There's a page out there that says to stay away from 80% lowers as well. I found it through google when looking for something else.

Yes, there are lots of pages out there that have outdated info.
Cleaning them up/updating them would be a gargantuan task.

That's just the way it is. Caveat emptor, and always consider dates when reading and considering the validity of content.

This is hilariously interesting timing, as last night I came across this page while I was at a company party trying to half-drunkenly look up some info on 80% lowers to prove to a friend that it was OK to do. I had searched for "80% OLL CA DOJ LETTER" and it was the first result. A bunch of coworkers and I just did group buy and we are going to finish them over the next few weeks.

Is there such a letter from the DOJ about 80% lowers?
