These past few months I've been shooting solely on BLM land and the need for a sling for my 15-22 is pretty apparant now since there is no table to put my rifle on like at the indoor ranges. I would also like to practice transitioning from my rifle to pistol and vice versa.

What are the pros and cons between a 1point and 3 point slings? And who makes a good rail sling mount that won't break the bank, there no front sling mount on my rifle

Thanks in advance.

1 pt sling = nutslapper
3 pt sling = playing cats cradle with the human body

How about a 2 pt sling? :)

Magpul makes the rsa and I like it. Daniel defense has the QD mounts for about the same price that are nice.

With the RSA you can get a magpul MS3 sling and have it in single or 2 point config whenever you like.

I like single points for shotguns.

2 point slings for carbines.

This is the best one IME:

I run a VTAC non-padded. Very happy with it as well, but I like the ring and adjustment range of the one above better.

Most people prefer a padded sling BTW.

I have gone back and forth on this. I like the control of a single, but the hang and stowage of a 2 point. I am not fond of 3 points. I went to a SandStorm Rifle Sling (http://www.sandstormcustomrifleslings.com/) which is both 1 and 2 point. Love it. I can secure it and use it as a 2 point, or quickly go to a single point. Its comfortable, rugged and cost about the same as a regular web sling...but its custom made. The owner is a member here. He gives Calguns discounts.

my buddy was all talking **** about how awesome his 3 point sling from blackhawk was than used my Huskey on my ar...

replaced his 3 slings with Huskey slings.

The huskey is basically an all in one sling the adjustment strap all the way out acts like a single point or you can get a QD mount on the strap and its an even better single point than others.

I have a 3 point that is a cheapo condor that i bought to toy around with....it lives on my 22 because its jsut to complicated and it was the only rifle that needed a sling. going to be buying another huskey next time i go near their shop.

I recently took a 2 day carbine class and they recommended this sling:

At $22 it's a steal and works fantastic.

Just my .02

Wow! Those are awesome, and the price is remarkably fair...

We try.
Right now we are doing 10% off for calguns, or 15% of the price donated to CGF.

OP, I personally stick with a 2 point on my rifles. On my AK pistol, soon to be SBR, I use a single point. I like preserving the possibility of having children at some point :)

Oh and D-P, I am but a lowly employee, gotta remember Brittany wears the pants around here.

Single point for CQB, three point for anything else. When in doubt, go three point.
