If i was able to get my hands on one of these in CA and built a mag lock and a 10rd limit on the mag ? Would it be CA legal? and Why or Why not?

If it's not on the list (that's the first if, and a big one with HKs) and you can either make a mag lock kit, or remove the pistol grip, then yes, it would be legal. Make sure it meets the overall length requirement as well.

It is not an HK receiver so you could fix a mag or remove the evil features, but the seller states

we do not sell guns into Califorina even if they are requested taken apart if you live in California do NOT bid on this auction

You also need a magazine that is at most 10 rounds.

That's Todd Bailey selling it......forget it ,he won't sell to Cali anymore.
But you could e-mail him.....maybe he's changed his mind.

I can confirm that he has sold to a Californian, but it had to be shipped to another state. Just don't ask him to break it down and ship it here. Use CWS for your transfer needs.

I could be wrong so don't quote me.

But I believe this would be correct. It "would" be legal if it had a 10rd fixed mag. Or if it had no pistol grip (a monsterman style grip would work) and then you could use 10rd mags that are detachable. If you have owned preban hicap mags before 2000 then you would be able to use those it detachable config, but only with non pistol grip & without any other AW features.

I just saw a barrelled receiver at a local FFL that looked exactly like the one on GB. It was just a barrelled receiver with no features.

USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION and you will find this covered many, many times before.

Its easy to just hack the grip, then you can use whatever mags you already had..if you had them.

Search for "bobcat" there is alot of info on these already.

It would be really cool if Monsterman made CA compliant grip (actually it would have to be a complete lower trigger housing) that would fit these...
