View Full Version : AR Pistol Bolt not locking up

I've noticed something strange today at the range . at the 10th round , my bolt wont stay back .
manually locking it "works"
FYI , when i had to cut some coils off from the spring due to being long ( i cut it same length as my other AR carbine )
other than that pistol work great !
has anyone had this issue ?
im running 10.5 spike tactical upper / bcg / H2 buffer /PWS tube

I'm going to take a wild stab at it. Weak mag springs? Not putting enough force onto the bolt catch to keep it open?

I was going to compare the difference between PWS tube and my rifle tube . thought i had to cut down few more coils or something .
^ i will have to try few different mags next time when im out again . thanks

Dude your buffer is too heavy. You shouldn't have to cut any coils off your spring. Your bolt carrier is not moving back far enough thats why its not locking back. Where do your spent cartriges eject? They should be going out at 3 o clock.

I remeasured again with my other just to be sure . and its same length . i havent cut it yet . I've put empty several empty mags and try to duplicate again . I've found that bolt catch wasn't functioning properly .
it was my fault from gecko :owned:
but its all good now ! thanks all
