I need to have one of my old shotguns re-finished as nice as possible, family hammydown, or actually have it reblued, there was a place in Northern Ca I was going to send it to but I forgot the name of the place, they offered free return shipping and most turn arounds were 1 to 2 weeks, does anybody know of the place I am talking about? And do they do a good job? Or know of anyplace better? Thanks alot in advance!

Don't know of anyone in NorCal that does cold rebluing. You can't do a hot reblue on an older gun because the solder will melt.

If you here in Fresno/Clovis I do cold bluing on most firearms for under $150.00 with a light linseed oil on stock. But I do not do any shipping

The Shotgun was made in 1910 but I believe its an all steel barrel, I don't see why it couldn't be hot blued, wheres the solder at that will melt? Its a Ansley H Fox shotgun by the way. any other opinions?

I think you're looking for Hot Flash Refinishing in Whitmore. If you decide to use them, let me know how it goes. I'm thinking of going to them in the next few months for a rifle.

I was recently in a similar situation with an old 1955 Remington of my fathers that I wanted to restore. I went with T&D Metalworks in Indiana. They refinished the stock, reblued all the metal and replaced a few things. It literally looks like brand new. It arrived in about a month, was packaged very well and survived shipping unscathed. It cost about $380 all said and done. I am a very happy camper.

These people have done some very good work for me. Quick turn around time. Reasonable pricing. The have blued 4 rifles for me so far, and I plan on sending them 2 more once I get them barreled.
