Price??

For a gun that no one has had in stock and everyone wants is price really a consideration?

Pretty much yea.

That gun has been hard to find from what everyone tells me.

What a great gun though, sexy as heck, not as expensive a sig, but just as reliable and has a way better grip.

Too bad tactical is off roster and the standard just have a safety, what a waste of a good DA trigger.

I asked Angus Hobdell about availability on the cz forums, he said he just received a few (not SP-01) 75s (less than 10). It's been a real drought.

If you want one, you have to pay. I paid more for a used one than what Turner's wants, but it had many upgrades and 9 magazines. But I wanted it for USPSA so I paid for it!

Supply and demand, Turners knows SOMEONE will buy it!

If I were closer I'd look at the .40 tac sport!

Tac sport 9mm goes for $1200+ around here. Very tempting, but wondering if it's worth it. I'm sure it's an awesome gun but, is it worth that price? :what:

This is hysterical! About 11 people on Calguns have elevated the SP-01 to "legend" status and are justifying its sale price at MSRP due to some fantasy of high demand when the reality is that they just don't import that many. Who these days wants a BIG HEAVY STEEL pistol that is difficult to carry while a very small percentage of gun owners compete.

Turners reads this forum too and are just playing into the foolishness while perpetuating the nonsense and maximizing margin.

It's proof that having top competition shooters use your product can increase demand so the marketing clearly works.

A stock SP-01 like all stock CZ's has a very mediocre trigger that is mushy and has a long reset. To achieve the greatest potential of the gun plan to spend another $200 on a competition hammer and trigger job and $150 on better sights. Now you realize why a Tac Sport costs what it does.

My Sp-01 is the nicest shooting and most accurate pistol I own and I knew that it would cost over $1,000 (including the gun) to get it to where I wanted it.

The SP-01 is a great platform and starting point to a perfectly sublime pistol when modified. I get silly giggles when I shoot it long distance (for a pistol) but also bored really quick because it's hard to miss with it.

A few weeks back @ Iron Sights in Oceanside I looked at a SP-01 that they had in their glass case. I thought the gun looked great but it didn't feel that good in my hand and it was really stiff. I realize it needs break-in but compared to a new P220 Combat it was REALLY stiff. Top that off with the sales person saying that they really disliked the CZ and would not recommend one...

So perhaps the gun is still there waiting for a home...

I ended up selling my SP-01 a few months back. Like ShooterDude stated, it was just a little too heavy. Fit my hand nice but after about 200 rounds, my groups would start floating from me trying to control the weight.

I did pick up a CZ 75BD (2 mags + case) from Project 2000 range last week for $469, I had sold my previous 75B to buy my Sp-01. I think I'm more comfortable with the smaller 75bd.

For shooting on the action range, its just about perfect IMO. Enough weight to keep your recoil *very* mild. Way to heavy to CCW for me though.

But we shoot between 20-30 round strings at the most, then deal with the jackasses that feel they are to good to help tape up stand around and do nothing, while we reset the stage.

I love my SP-01, it's probably the most accurate 9mm I have and shot besides the Glock 34. But it's not perfect by any means, it's a great target gun but not for EDC. All I can say is Buy what you like and enjoy, it's your money.

Get the SP01 Phantom if a big steel gun is a negative. As usual, it's not a CA roster gun. Good luck finding one via SSE. Shot 300-400 rounds through a SP01 Shadow -- it's more accurate than I am.
