Sorry but when search Glock and or 1911 a lot of other threads come up. The images of the "Glock 1911" on the web and on our forums and others - is this a real offering from them soon? I read one post where it said late 2011? But nothing on the Glock web site?

Is there a Glock 1911 out there or coming soon?

Better not be real, what would we all argue about on here?!

Oh wait... AR vs AK, 9mm vs .45, Aimpoint vs Eotech

Ok, I think we'll be fine.

Glock does things their own way, they don't like to follow others so I'd have a hard time believing that they'd imitate a design rather than building based off their own design. ESPECIALLY, when that design is working so well for them.

I'll pass on a Glock 1911. Now a Glock revolver, now we're talking.

Not just Glock 1911 but Glock POLYMER 1911. :)

FYI. Glock did not design the first polymer pistol; did not design the first polygonal rifling; did not design the first striker fired platform; and did not design the first pistol with light rail.

So why not a 1911. :D

Heck yes!
I have heard that that RRA poly 1911 will retail at over $800. If true, that's too steep for a polymer frame gun IMHO

I don't think so, Wilson did one in the late 90's early 2000's although his had a double stack 10 round mag

Why a polymern 1911? One of the reasons why I love 1911's is cause they are all steel. What a shame.

it's in there best interest to build one..... you know it would be 7 days a week at the factory in smyrna (mandatory overtime) by the time they got to gen 4 they would have sold a million copys

Intriguing. A 1911 with an unsupported chamber and a crummy trigger pull is a bit of a market gamble, but one never knows what can sell in this economy.

Best shop ever. If only he removed the hammer and replaced the thumb safety with a trigger safety. It would be like when they put the JDM engine in the 60s mustang in Tokyo Drift.

I have to agree. $500 would be more realistic.

And we'd be seeing the bottom absolutely drop out of the used Glock .45 market. They'd be going for $200 a pop when the fanboiz reallized just how crappy that trigger really is.:D

The best part of that photoshop is that they removed those hideous front serrations...

would not be surprised if they had prototyped up a couple of them, but it doesn't seem to be fitting with their design philosophies, so I doubt we'll see one hit production.

Look at that photo and Thank JMB and Ed Brown for their hard work. That is what the pistol in that pic is about. Not some other mfg of other types of pistols.

It is not plastic so it can't be a Glock.

I just wish Glock would make a .45 ACP on the same frame as the 19/23. As for a 1911, they should not go there.

This meme is still alive? Jeez, this was debunked quite a while ago. Guess it's true, the Internet is forever.

It's a so-so Photochop. Wouldn't designing a 1911 be a step backwards for Glock? I have a Springfield 1911-A1 loaded and I love it but it is a really old design. Isn't Glock all about the plastic modern gun? It would make no sense for them to design a gun like this, it would be the most bizarre corporate strategy I have ever seen (I am a management consultant for Fortune 200s).

As do I Mike. No room in my gun safe for hate, my G19 sits two inches away from my prized Colt.

As far as the OP, that pic looks really cool... it's fake as can be but cool. Sure, I'd buy one... Then again, I like blondes and brunettes equally.
