Finally got all the parts in and finished her.

RIA 1911-A2
Caspian Beaver Tail
S&W hammer
RIA 6" slide
RIA Bull Barrel
RIA reverse plug
RIA Guide rod
Dawson Magwell
Wolf 18.5 lb spring
8 hr of file work

I have to say RIA has the best deal on 6" slides and barrels. Slide came with LPA adjustable sights and front fiber for $120!!!! Wow. Only draw back is it does not have barrel bushing slot milled. Not an issue with the RIA $70 "match" barrel (meaning oversized needs fitting). AND they don't ship to CA.

Gun fitted together with min effort. Frame to slide fit was excellent require just a little tightening. Bull barrel just needed to be fitted around the locking lugs and polishing around the barrel lugs. Excellent fit around the muzzle. Typical extractor and slide tuning for feed reliability. Feeds easily with P14 10rd and my old Para mag hand racking while riding the slide. Next will be the range test.

Fairly boring, no FTF/FTE from ~ 200rd down range. Nothing extradinary. Went bang every trigger pull, and locks back when empty, insert new mag, and loads when slide released. RIA performed well and shot better than I ever can. Nice smooth cycles.

5 shot group at 25ft. Nothing to write home about. But in this case, I am the limiting factor. The RIA has much higher potential.

Overall, satisfied with the results. RIA really performed beyond expectation. I think I am hooked on long slide guns, and in this case Hi-cap as well. Highly recommended :43:

If they don't ship it (barrel, slide?) here then how did you get it. That pic is making me consider converting my GI to longslide match-barrel. Its totally bad-@## looking.

Wow thats cool. I've always wanted a longslide 1911. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it set you back?

Thanks for sharing. That's a nice grouping you got there. I wish I can shoot like that someday. :D

Sure, low 900 inclusive all expense. A bit less than SA long slide if u can find one but an wide body :43:

Roughly 50% if u go with ParaOrd. If someone else were to fit it, add 300-400.

Hardest part is getting the RIA parts  If one goes with other manufac part, then add the price delta of 300 and up pending choice.

Getting it all to work, priceless :)
