My first revolver gets released in about a week, so im looking to get a few speed loaders. Its a ruger police service six, and I have found some safariland comp ll's for it at about $13 a piece. Are these good? What's better? TIA

Like everything else....what are you going to use it for?

target mostly, and just another sd/hd gun to have somewhere in the house.

I like the Safariland Comp I's, if you can get it for your gun. They don't hide very well, but they are fast. If you really want something fast and easily "pocketable", you might consider getting your cylinder cut for moon clips.

i think only the comp 2's will fit the service six

I have a ruger LCR and I use a 5 star speed loader. It is the only one that I know of that is a perfect fit for the LCR... and they are billet aluminum so you cant beat that. Bit expensive though at 20+ a pop

I have a bunch of revolvers and use HKS for all of them.
I do have the safari comps, and don't like them because I have had too many spills with them. The HKS never spill and although just a hair slower are more dependable for me. For carry I will only use the HKS so might as well use them for range and practice with them as well.

For the Ruger security six, use the HKS Mk 3-A, although the 10A will work, but a little tighter. !0A are for the Smith K which has a slightly smaller cylinder than the Ruger.

Thanks! I'll look into that!

+1 for HKS as a solid all around solution. S&W K frame loaders (IIRC) will fit a Security Six.

Safarilands are great!

Speedloaders are nice, but it's pretty tough to beat moonclips :)

Is this true?

Safariland. I tried HK, no worky well.

The safarilands needed a little file work on the ridges to make them work perfectly on a taurus 85,
