With only about 500 rounds down range, and only 21 rounds today, the slide stop sheared off this morning.

Now if only I can figure out what part number I need to order a new one from Brownell's.

Yes, I know it's dirty....I took the pics as soon as I got back home.

ouch, that sucks. give Bill Martin a call, he's a local gunsmith in Castro Valley. He's relatively close by (based on your location), and he works on a good amount of them since he does work with many local PDs.

I would guess that Beretta would send you a new slide stop. the trick is trying to get one in "Inox" and not black.
Call them and let us know what happens.

looks like an MIM part.

JerryThanks, I'll call as soon as I get a chance.

Wow, warranty?Nope, bought it in 2002. As far as I can tell, without calling Beretta directly, warranty is only 3 years.

I would call them anyway. I think that with so little wear on the gun and, as Tankerman said, from the pictures, looks like a MIM part that just snapped, they should replace it.

Oh. I was thrown with the “only 500 rds"

Ditto g60. Atleast give Beretta a call, they might surprise you.

Just tried to call them, office hours are 9 - 5 Mon-Fri, Eastern.

Guess I'll have to try again bright and early Monday morning

Bought it as an impulse purchase and it sat for a few years before I actually took it out to the range.

Never hurts to make a phone call... I have a feeling Beretta will send you a new one. If you end up having to get one on your own, try to find pre-2000 parts. That's when Beretta switched over tot he plastic guide-rode and MIM parts. The only issue... since the parts are not serialized, darn hard to ID an manufacture date. Just have to trust the seller :p

That is defiantly a bummer, hope everything works out!

I've never seen that before.

I'm sure Beretta will replace it.

If they don't, I'll send you a blue, all metal (not MIM) one for free!

Please let me know what happens.

Does not compute :p

Seriously though, hope Beretta makes it right.

3 year warranty on a gun? I guess I'm glad I got the PT99 Taurus (I liked where the safety was)

UPDATE: Talked to Beretta service department this morning. They refuse to do anything to help me out short of giving me the part number needed and to forward me to Brownell's.

Seeing how INOX parts aren't available anymore, looks like it's time to swap a few parts out and turn it into a two-tone.

Go ask at the beretta forum. Someone may be able to hook you up.

The same part sheared on my Inox 96 (.40) 6 months or so ago, and my LGS ordered one for me. It took a long time for it to come in, but I got an Inox replacement.

Maybe if a Beretta retailer calls them for you they might get better results?

That's terrible that they wouldn't help you out.

Now THAT's a DEAL.. then just have it matte hard coated so it blends.. problem solved and the OP has a better part in his gun.

Nice offer!
