Yes there is a huge difference.

Bennie Cooley= brake
Battlecomp= not really a break it is designed to take out the concussion
PWS= hybrid brake/flash hider

Yes there is a difference in performance because they all do different things.

What do you want the muzzle device to do for you?

Muzzle rise for multiple follow up shots

Then the battlecomp is not for you.

You want a dedicated brake. All though the PWS does work pretty well but there are better dedicated brakes.

Arredondo, SJC Titan, Rolling Thunder or Surefire are the brakes I'd look at and those are the most common used by top 3-gun competitors. Looking at what the top guys are using is probably going to give you a better indication than asking on a forum where you have no idea what the qualifications are of those responding.

Personally I prefer Arredondo, mainly because it's a damn good brake, but Ralph is also a great guy to deal and shoot with (and based in CA)

pws - I've had half a dozen versions of it an would probably put one on my glock if a threaded barrel was legal and it didnt look so dorky.

the doj has clearly stated they not are not a flash hider though ;) - check out the gun smoke brakes - they have some one handed ar15 pistol shooting vids on youtube that are fairly convincing.
