Im putting together another AR in .223/5.56 and i want some input about these barrel options. Any input is helpful besides suggesting a google search since i have already done that.

Here is what i want to build and some parameters:

14.5/14.7 inch barrel
Accuracy approximately 1-2MOA
Midlength gas system
<$300 for the barrel

Thanks for your time and input!

Not sure. I only have the BCM 14.5 Middy and have not shot the others. I do like my BCM and would buy again. I have heard good things about the other two as well. I would say either of the three you will be happy with.

I am a BCM "fanboy" so of course that is my first choice but I would not hesitate to run a DD barrel as well.
Never had any first hand experience with Ranier Arms except as a company I have purchased from (repeatedly) and have had nothing but awesome experiences with them. Again, that is just from orders and parts, not barrels.

Some would say I am a DD "fanboy".. but what exactly do you plan on doing with this ar? As I see it you have two cold hammer forged chrome lined barrels and one stainless "match" barrel.. all three barrels you listed are quality barrels..

aimsurplus has DD CHF 14.5 pencil barrels for like $250 w/ a coupon code. check their industry site on AR15.com

I kind of lumped the barrels together based on price, and from what i have heard/researched, comparable performance. And the AR is just going to be a range gun and maybe a gun to take some courses with.

Here is a White Oak for <$300

Here is a fluted White Oak, for $370.

Doubt you'll find a better barrel for anywhere near that price.

I'd go with the BCM or the Daniel defense.

Better yet, I'd get a Noveske barrel.

The rainier select are good barrels but they haven't had them in stock for awhile. DD 16" midlength is a great carbine barrel but stainless options like White Oak will be more accurate.

I wouldn't get a 14.5" either unless you want a welded/pinned flash hider which to me is a pain.

FWIW I had a 16" rainier select match and it didn't give me the accuracy I wanted so I sent it back and got an ultra match. It is a MUCH more consistent shooter.

if that is the case, then i would go with the dd or bcm.. if you are not looking for a "match" style , then you might as well get a chf barrel that will last much longer then a stainless

From your list, toss a coin between DD and BCM.

the BCM is a DD.

get that one. noveske is better but more expensive for a tacti-cool build.

Are you stuck on a 14.5"? Why not go to a 16"?

I already have a 16in Ar and i like it but i wanted to see how i liked the shorter length. I know it is only 1-1.5inches shorter with the muzzle device but i would like to try it out and see how i like it

I have a Noveske, but if I had to do it again I would chose a Noveske :) and then maybe a BCM.

No difference whatsoever in handling.

If you already have a 16" carbine it's time for an 18" SPR :)

I completely disagree. I have a 14.5" and I've noticed a huge difference in handling compared to my dads 16".

ACTUALLY you are wrong.. BCM barrels are NOT DD barrels.. there was a thread a couple weeks ago, that bravo company started letting EVERYONE know that there barrels are not DD barrels..

still trying to find the thread, my calguns search-fu is weak today or something

ronin.

if you were meaning that both are quality COLD HAMMER FORGED BARRELS then you are correct, but bcm barrels are NOT DD barrels..

Get a Daniel Defense

Go DD. Ranier and BCM don't make their own barrels and are generally considered not as good as DD cold hammer forged barrels.
