Yes, they did -- this is from memory, but as I recall they were made and shown to Colt as a deterent. Winchester was concerned Colt rifles would intrude on their market share.
I do not recall if the winchester revolvers were ever placed on the market.
my tuppence

I have a reference, Guns & Ammo Jan 1962 -- unfortuately this issuei is buried in storage.

gunboat, if you dig it out, I hope you can scan it and post it!
I'm pretty sure there was only one of those pistols made, a single pistol that stopped a war between Winchester and Colt.
Depends on who tells the story, either a Win collector or a Colt collector, about who started it. I heard it from a Win collector.
Colt started selling their SxS shotguns cutting in on the Win shotgun business.
So Win responded by importing the British Bulldog, and selling them at a fraction of what a Colt sold for.
Then Colt came out with the Burgess lever action.
So Win went to Mr Mason to build that pistol. It must have cost them a chunk of change, Mason had done the percussion conversions for Colt, and was the brains behind the Colt SAA.
The story goes that they both agreed to stay in their own yard after Colt had a look at it.
