View Full Version : Why doesn't Bushmaster make an off-list?

Since building my AR-15 I keep wondering why some of the Companies such as Bushmaster who have their rollmark on the naughty-list don't simply relabel their lower so they can sell in California? All they'd have to do is rename it XM-15CA and it's off the list from what I've learned here.

Well anyway maybe my interest in this is pointless anyhow as there are now so many companies out there making AR-15s the choices are virtually limitless compared to the 1990s when Bushmaster was a huge deal.

Just out of curiosity though has anyone here ever built a CARBON-15?

XM15-CA would still be banned. I heard somewhere that Bushmaster is venturing to that point like Colt and DPMS have but who knows

I was buying my pistol today, and saw a guy picking up a Bushmaster ACR...... and an FN SCAR. I know they arent AR15 platforms, but that ACR was oozing sex appeal. The thing was insane.

True you can get the ACR, I held one and it's definitely a heavy beast compared to the ar-15. I just remember back in the 1990s as a college kid I always wanted the snake but couldn't afford it and now you have to settle for the carbon 15 or ACR cuz the xm-15 made the naughty list :(

I have no idea. I only looked at it long enough to confirm that they had in fact changed the model number (what the actual model number was was of no concern to me, just that it wasn't listed). I did note that they are now marked as being made in Ilion, NY.

Where can I put one with the new roll mark in jail and add the snake to my safe to fulfill my college dream?

 maybe because it was a no no for so long? Or maybe lots of folks out there with Shruby uppers they want to match?

Outside of that, you got me!?!?

The colt thing I kinda understand, but even at that..

The one at wal-mart that I bought about a month ago is excellent the complaints that the gas keys aren't staked is old news they're properly staked and i havent had any issues with it so far only fired about 200 rounds through it but no hiccups yet.

TDS Guns has one listed for sale on their web site, the "BFC-15." Couldn't find any info about it on the Bushmaster site.
