SKS IS SOLD
Leather ammo pouch (as seen in pics propping up rifle)
Cleaning kit in buttstock (see picture)
Leather sling
Railed receiver cover (currently installedd as shown on rifle)
Stock receiver cover (has shell deflector welded to it)
bag of stripper clips
there was also some kind of odd boresnake or something, it was twine with metal weights on each end. If I can find it, I'll include it as well, and maybe you'll have better luck than I figuring out what its for...

Not familiar with how that works. when i bough it had to do the DROS/bkgrnd check, etc, but the serial number shows it was made in 1942, so its past the 50 years...

according to the ATF, the M1 is listed as a C&R, but i am not familiar with transferring a C&R

I believe he's talking about the sks which doesn't get the perks of c&r license transfer due to california's separate "must be older than 50 years" rule. IOW it qualifies federally but not here so it still must go through the ffl and dros process. The M1 might have some c&r issues as well in it's .308 form. I haven't been able to get a definitive answer on that from searches.

The M1 has modifications which have substantially changed it. Caliber, barrel length, stock and op rod altered. It is now in a form which was never manufactured at the time it was originally built. Pretty good bet Feds do not consider it C & R. And unless you can establish it is over 50 years old as currently built, it also won't fly in California.
At least that is the best I can figure out reading the rules. I have a fed C & R Class 03, so I have spent some time trying to understand them; but am not a lawyer, etc, etc

^ this is also true. forgot about the modifications part. the receiver is 03/1942, and most of the other parts are same time period from what i could find, just not in this combination. is there something I'm missing? why does everyone ask about the C&R status? doesnt change how it shoots...
