I was wondering if anyone could say something about the rarity of some .38/.357 revolvers in SoCal (LA). Been keeping an eye out for a Ruger Security/Service Sixes, GP100's or S&W Mod's 10/13/19, mainly to use as range toy and home defense sidearm. Anyone know what're the odds that some of these have 'dried up' in availability?

I'd put up an ad in the WTB forum here on this website. You might get a few bites. I've seen the Rugers up for sale before on here, I think.

You should be able to find a gp100 easily since they are still being made, the others are no longer being produced and off roster so you just have to keep your eyes peeled. I see the security six and model 10 the most (other than the gp100). Also watch the classifieds here.

Check with Turner's they have them on sale from time to time.
Used ones are harder to find.
Gp100 are built like tanks so they will last forever, if you take care of them.
Good Luck

Turners or Oak Tree Gun Club always seem to have used revolvers in the case.

Keep an eye out, they do get posted in the for sale section more often than you think. But the problem is that they are sold just as fast as they are posted. So if you see one you gotta be quick.

Every shop I've ever been in has used wheelguns. Just start hunting.

Decent condition at a decent price... there's the rub.;)

Saw a pretty nice SS Security Six in 6" for $350 couple weeks ago. Didn't last long.

A good 38/357 wheel gun is like a 10 22. It's a must have. Like others have mentioned, do your homework, find a model that you want and jump on it when you find one. Either here or at your local FFL. Good Luck!
