My friend gave me this JP reduced power spring, now I am only using the yellow trigger spring and sear spring in my AR. I am thinking about use the hammer spring to light my trigger pull, but do you guys think that will make my AR un-reliable, cause some failure fire. I know JP has some other duty spring kits, but I want spend my budget on some other parts.

it can cause some failure to fires if you are using milspec/surp ammo. My count seems to be 1 out of 100. Being that mine are on range toys, I dont care.

But I was told recently that they are primarily intended for commercial/match ammo

Thanks MrPlink, so do you think if it's OK only use the trigger spring?

you can use just the trigger spring and the disconnector spring, if you are worried about ftf, i use the standard jp 3.5 springs with no issue, ever.. BUT my hammer is machined as a speed hammer. if you want to use the jp springs and run a standard full weight hammer, order the jp 3.5t springs.. jp springs (http://jprifles.com/1.4.8.3_spring.php)

I have bent trigger springs and other tuning done to one AR trigger, it's a 4ish lb pull...it lights off military primers no problem. If it wasn't lighting primers off I'd look at other issues with the gun first.

My other AR's have Timney 3lb triggers and they light off military ammo no problem. Hell, I took a bunch of surplus M193 I had, pulled the bullets and made Mexican match out of it. Fed it to one of the 3lb Timney equipped rifle and it ran it without issues.

J/K. I know what mexican match is, but it was too tempting to post that.

Both of my 3 gun riffles have these springs in them. Likes been said, 5.56 and these springs don't get along .223 softer primers are just fine. Even with my light hammer I still have a few light hits from time to time.
