Did Russian SKS tula came with very lighter stock? almost like blonde?

Want to confirm if its original stock, before i buy this gun.

I will post the pic, once i get it from the seller.

Thanks

I believe all the original stocks are dark red. There were laminated stocks that I believe were from rearsenaled guns.

It could be the original stock, it's not the original finish.

I just uploaded picture of the rifle to the post.

Is this the original stock for a Russian Tula SKS? i have not seen this color stock.

Thanks

I've never seen a Russian SKS that looked like that, or any SKS for that matter with that color of stock, what ever it is, it's most likely been refinished. But its very nice looking, if price is right, I'd buy it.

yeah the stock might be original if the serial numbers match. however being laminated and that color plus the "black" bbq paint gives it a dead give it away that it is a refurb. Sure it will make a good shooter though.

That stock is most likely not original to the rifle. It's a late laminate stock, almost certainly a replacement. If the price is right, it would make a nice shooter.

It was replaced by Russian arsenal right? Price is around $450 for this rifle, good/bad/ugly? :-)

How can i make sure its the replacement by Russian arsenal and its infact not from other SKSs like Yugo, Chinese etc?

Added more pics.

thanks

Yes, it would've been replaced whenever it was refurbed. It's a Russian stock.

$450 is a little high for a refurb, unless it's an Izhevsk, or a 49 Tula.

It also comes with SKS value package, that has scope, mount and stripper clips.
I really dont want that package, so planning to sell it off. not sure if anyone will be intested in buying it.

Thanks

Like others are saying, a Russian SKS stock, especially if arsenal rebuilt, would not have a stock that looks like that. Somebody likely did there own work to it to there desires. If you like how it looks buy it. If unsure, then don't.

mmm show me a picture of the entire package if you could...you might actually have something a little unique.

Do you know who the importer is?

The stock color doesn't concern me, some of the later refurbed Soviet SKS laminate stocks are blond like that. Although the finish doesn't look as "glossy" as it should be, that could just be the pics though.

Depending on what the scope and mount are, you could be getting a decent deal.

It sure resembles a "Polish" stock but, the wood grain tells me its Russian.

AHHH ok well hate tell you buddy but that box is nothing really special. If it was a Russian Scope and all be worth a bit but you just have a bunch of aftermarket stuff.

Either way not a bad way to spend 450 and have some good ol Comm weapons fun :P

He could still get a little bit for the scope and mount though, cut the cost down to around $400.

I dont want to keep the scope and mount, want to sell them.

Not sure if there is anyone who wants it.

It's a standard Soviet laminated stock which someone has sanded and refinished. A Soviet laminated stock should look like the stocks below. They had the same shellac finish as the hardwood stocks.

Don't blame you, I wouldn't either. Keep looking, you should be able to find a better example at that price.

Actually the dark red finish on some laminated Soviet stocks were as far as can be determined used by Egypt (or for Egypt) to re-arsenal Chinese type 56 SKS rifles. See below. They are definitely Soviet stocks and definitely came into the US with Chinese rifles. Not a "Bubba" job here in the states.

I can tell I have a long way to go before I'm anywhere near a true "enthusiast". I can tell the difference between an SKS and a Yugo SKS, that's where it ends...

Go ahead SKSer45... laugh away at me ;)

SKSer45 is definately a hand full! hahahahaha But... he's really a nice guy. We've been shooting a few times together, did a trade on a Romanian & Paratrooper SKS, P1 Walther, and are trying our best to get ready to shoot the Swiss match in Carmel on March 17th, but the Swiss gawds are against me right now... just can't seem to get anything together... I know the shoot is going to be tough... but the preparations seem to be even tougher! ;)

But I wish I had his energy... being 26 must be fun! I'm almost twice that and get worn out just thinking about walking to the kitchen :)

He's a good guy though... just full of piss and vinegar to be sure! hahahaha :rofl2:

Man... I wish I had a Russian SKS... and the one with the stock in question, even if it's not the real/true stock... what a beauty!

And we all know that my "contribution status" doesn't give ME anything special, it's about giving Calguns something... money to function on.

Oh and Sunday? K31. Nothing else. K31. Trigger Time on the K31.
