A former co-worker of mine recently contacted me by way of Facebook to ask how to import an old Winchester that is currently owned by his grandfather in Mexico. Is it possible to do so? how would one go about it? Is it something a regular FFL could handle? If so, who would be knowledgeable in the Fresno/Madera area that I could pass along?

thanks in advance for the assistance.

I used these guys years ago:
http://www.simpsonltd.com/import.php

They were very helpful and took care of the customs stuff as well as the import rules. Call them and they will give you great advice.

I would contact your local receiving FFL. Most of them can handle these without too much effort. As long as they aren't doing more than a few per year, it falls under their FFL.
