Help me understand please.

Per the flow chart and PC 12276.1 an AW shotgun is defined as;

6) A semiautomatic shotgun that has both of the following: (A) A folding or telescoping stock. (B) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, thumbhole stock, or vertical handgrip. (7) A semiautomatic shotgun that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine. (8) Any shotgun with a revolving cylinder.

My question is, does the complete absence of any type of butt stock and with a pistol grip fall under the AW criteria? If all the legal measurements are met, is a pistol grip only semi-auto shotgun legal?

Thank you.

No and Yes.

You're right; you must make minimum OAL with any Pistol Grip only shotgun.

Thank you for the quick reply!!!! That was my line of thought. We were having a heated discussion at work regarding the absence of the butt stock all together.

Recoil spring inside the receiver, as with a Saiga 12.

Recoil spring inside the receiver, as with a Saiga 12.

Or around the magazine tube (eg Franchi Spas and Benelli M3).
