I have a Cannon 24 gun safe. I don't like how the gun storage racks are set up in rows from front to back. It is too much of a hassle to tilt the guns in from underneath to get them set up on the rack especially when it comes to the longer ones. I would prefer a rack system that is "U" shaped where you would lean the guns on the right, left, and back sides of the safe. (if that makes sense)
Is there any place where I can buy new interior to suit my needs or do I have to design and build this myself?

The U shape doesnt hold many guns if they have optics.

Have you seen the rifle rods?

The system I have going right now isn't optic friendly either unless the gun has a column all to it self and is in the middle row. And yes I have heard about those but I don't like the idea of my guns weight resting on elastic. I feel like they would all shake loose during an earthquake. I do like the idea of using rods, just not attaching the rods to elastic.

cut your cutom shelf out of plywood and cover it with felt or carpet.

Thanks thats what I've started to do. Took me hours to measure everything out just right and get it the way I want. I'm still having trouble figuring out how to evenly sketch the curves for the barrel rests.
Any advice on how to do that?
Now I just need to make a trip to home depot :D

Draw one "notch" on a piece of card stock and then use it as a template to draw the others.

Note the diagram for for barrel cut outs. I think these would be deep enough for a rifle with a 50mm scope

I wound up just tracing the cut outs on the old shelves and now I have all the measurements I need.
What kind of padding should I cover the shelves with? I was thinking of some sort of carpet but I don't know what is available at your average home depot
