joefrank64k,
Nice looking rifle!!
You'll find it's a sweet shooting rifle. I bought one a while back from Preachere on Gunboards. Remove the bolt, slide the extractor all the way back and you should be able to lift it out. There should be 1 more serial number on the underside of the extractor.

I picked up one off of Gun Broker last year and I think the sellers name was Preachere also. They are real accurate, I was picking off clay targets sitting on a bank at 125 yards with no problem the first time shooting it. Let us know how it shoots!

Looks like a real nice rifle. Was thinking about getting one but just don`t know. The fact they are single shot kinda kills it for me.

I know what you mean. I was on the fence about it, too.

There are other, non-C&R Polish trainers (Wz-78) floating around that have 5-round mags, heavy barrels, adj. triggers, and scope rails for about $280 shipped. But they need to come through an 01 FFL so add between $75 - $100 for transfer fees/DROS + sales tax and you're at ~$375 to $400.

So for $250 delivered, it's a cool piece of milsurp. Now I need to find a Polish M38 to go with it's trainer! :D

The Wz-78's are really nice too. I have a couple of those as well, a B-prefix model with plastic trigger guard and an A-prefix with metal trigger guard.

I too, was a bit hesitant on getting the Wz48 because it's single shot but have found it to be really fun to shoot. As others around you at the range are burning thru ammo at 10's or 100's of $$ per hour, you can have just as much fun with $3 worth of ammo. I've since gotten a Chinese single shot that's stamped JW8 but it doesn't look like any JW8 picture I've seen. It's a copy of a Russian TOZ3. Also picked up a CZ ZKM468 garden gun single shot. They're all fun.

Do you mean to say that the single shot trainers do not need to go through an FFL??

What a beauty. Glad it worked out for you. Tip for loading, after extracting a round, take your finger and push the extractor back to flush with the chamber, then insert new round. ;)

You mean M44?

Do you mean to say that the single shot trainers do not need to go through an FFL??

If you order them from out of state they do. They're a C&R long gun though; between two CA residents they are cash and carry.

And I had a sweet, unissued Polish M44, too. I bought it off a guy at the Costa Mesa gun show a couple of years ago for $75.00, and sold it to a friend for $75 because "I had too many" M44's.

As Bugs Bunny would say, "What a maroon!" :D

Ouch! I love how the unissued M44s look.

(Can I be your friend too? :Dlol)
