View Full Version : C&R Packet from ATF?
02-02-2012, 10:04 AM
Got my brand new FFL 03 about a month ago. Isn't there supposed to be a packet of info and forms from ATF at about the same time?
Should I be calling the FFL Center in West Virginia or the local ATF office?

Mine took 4 months.

License always arrives before the packet. You are licensed as of the day it arrived; so, you may proceed before the package arrives.
Main thing -- make or buy a boundbook -- doesn't actually have to be bound -- can be loose leaf. Must be to ATF specified form.

My packet came a week later or so, but I guess I've been hearing whenever.

Thanks for the info.

My packet came first actually. Got the license the next day. But that's USPS for you.
There isn't anything of real need in there. Except for the bound book "card" they give you. I just use a spreadsheet anyway.

mine was like a month later. I was the same day I ordered my first C&R gun.
Mines been about 2 months since getting my card and still haven't gotten anything thanks for reminding me to call them.

Maybe they only mail packets a bunch at one time every few months instead of mailing one at a time as the licenses are issued.
mine came a month later as well.

My packet came first, and then my license came like two months later only after calling them wondering where my license was.

Just got my packet.
About 10 weeks after the license. A couple pieces of paper telling about missing forms that I'll have to get later on after they print up some more.

I got a packet when I first got my license. Then after I changed my address I got two more packets (pretty much exactly the same). The coolest part about my new packets were the "bound book" cards and the books listing the C&R eligible firearms.

Maybe you guys havent gotten your packet because ATF sent me two identical packets. At a postage cost of 17.35 i reckon they spent a little more than the $30 i sent them to licence me.
I love government efficiency.

When should I be concerned about not getting my license? I got the packet a week ago but still no license.
