Definitely gonna make this. Does anyone know what the differences are between the UMC boxes (green/yellow) for 45 ACP?

Last time I bought a case of 500 WWB 45 for $170 + tax. Now it seems like it's only $5 cheaper with a two case minimum. I might be interested in trying out UMC cause i'm sure it'll be cheaper.

Seems like there are yellow boxes, green boxes, and green ones featuring nickel plated casings. I heard these will feed smoother but I once read that since nickel is harder than brass, you may be wearing out your chamber faster?

Think the main difference is in the cases and where it is made. You could allways ask the remington rep. who will be on hand.

EDIT: got another email from Dan. as has been said Turners stocks and sells LAX ammo in their stores, well heres another added bonus.

Yeah I could...but I figured I would ask here as well so that there isn't any chance of him/her just recommending something over the other just to push out whatever they want to sell more.

Do they charge sales tax on the reloads?

Sorry did no want to seem to be mean. :o What I meant was he could probably tell you more specifics as to place of manufacture, powders used and such.

from my personal experience, the green box not only have the nickel case, but the packaging is better. i've had some UMC yelow box that was delivered that while in transpo, the jostling of the ammo on top of each other setback some of the bullets. i attributed this to the way the trays come stacked in the yellow UMC boxes.

Last time bought reloads from them in the past, both at the gunshow and in store tax has been included in the price.

No worries, I didn't even feel you were being negative at all actually.

Do you guys think we are seeing an increase in ammo prices overall? Cause after some web browsing I think I want to stick with WWB. It will basically be $18 a box after tax and i'm trying to figure out if it will be worth buying more than the minimum on Sat.

Personally I've used ammo bros and miwal reloads without any problems.

Brandon, don't forget your 00 Buckshot. Have you tried out the shotty yet?

Hey John!

Nope I haven't shot it yet, but I did pick up a nice Aimpro/Hogue 13" LOP stock for it as well as a ammo can full of Winlite low recoil buckshot from Turner's when they had it for $99.99 a week ago or so.

Drunk, check out the thread in general. It's discussed there recently. Short version, most people like both. LAX slightly more for the honey factor

Are the prices worth driving from, for example, San Fernando?

Sure are, better than driving to a gunshow, or ordering online.

For you guys that have been to the sales, would you consider the .223 ammo to be sold at a good price?

I was able to get Federals for 28cent per bullet and was wondering if these sales usually go lower than that? Thanks!!

So i wasn't planning on going to this because it's pretty far, but now i have to take my mom to LAX airport that same morning... so this pretty much works out perfectly! Not so bummed about the long drive anymore :D

If I remember correctly , they had PMC 223 at $259/1000rd case. So about 26 cents a round.

They also state in the email that UMC bulk pack yellow box 223 will be $279.99

I was there but didn't buy anything as the prices were on par or more expensive than what you find on the Internet. However I only looked at 9mm and .223/5.56 ammo. Also FYI the prices quoted are pre-tax.

They had good prices on reloaded ammo and it was going fast but I wasn't interested. Federal 5.56 greentip XM855 was $145 for 420 rounds in ammo can which is reasonable.

Soft rifle covers were $8 or two for $14.

P.S. No honeys :(

Just got back from the sale, saw some good prices on the reloads. I picked up 500 rounds of PMC 38spl+P for $113+tax

Personally I've used ammo bros and miwal reloads without any problems.

I shoot lots of it - 9mm. .40 and .45... never an issue. I also use Ammo Bros, but recently have been buying LAX (usually cheaper and they do their own reloads in warehouse behind range)... I've bought about 1K rounds at the range but usually buy at gun show in OC. It's good ammo, you wont be disappointed.
