On Saturday (01/21) I went to the gun show at the cow palace and I spotted a Nagant Pistol (the gun vendor near the door). I asked the price and without batting a eye the lady at the cow counter said..........$300!
:(
Needless to say i walked away with out even handling it!

Wow what a rip, but there might be a sucker out there who will pay that.

I'm sure they will sell it someone (but not me!) it just goes to show you need to do your research prior to going to one of these!

That seems to be the norm for the last couple gun shows I went to...Most guns regular retail price, C&R guns ridiculously overpriced. Good deals on ammo but had to buy a ton for it to be worth it after paying the price of admission...

If it was a standard refurb with the "PW ARMS" billboard on the side, then yeah it was probably not worth it, but there are certain models of 1895 Nagants that are worth a heck of a lot more than $300!

It's the same with Mosins... there are some models/years/variants that sell for $2,500+ and I bet you could put one at a gun show with $300 on the tag and 20 people would walk by and laugh before someone realizes what it is :D

Why on earth do people go to gun shows and expect to find good deals? They are few and far between. I don't even bother to go to them any more out here. You can usually get better prices online. Gun shows seem to be for rubes and people who don't know any better.

The problem with online is there is so much competition.

was it MO marked... or chambered in .22? There are reasons why it may have been $300.

then again... maybe there wasnt....

There is a lot more to Nagant pistol collecting that the $100 refurbs that are not considered much by serious Nagant collectors. I have a refurb but it is just a play around shooter. Many non-refurbs are worth a lot more. The above site taught me quite a bit.
