my glocks are old and came in the burp style sealing boxes
there is a hole but it has always perplexed me how to lock the gun in the box
ive tried a cable lock but one could just open the box and load the mag still cycle the action and press the trigger
did they have some kind of spud that went from bottom up and took a lock?

If you're thinking of using the sandwich box for airline travel it won't work. The box can be pried open if it it's locked with a bolt through the middle. TSA won't accept it.
Otherwise, it's pretty much useless IMO.
Boxes are cheap. I paid $7 for one that's airline worthy at the gun show; fits in my checked baggage and accepts regular master locks and can't be pried open easily.

The only other idea I can think of is to get a trailer coupler lock from Walmart in the trailer hitch section. They have one that has a long shank and the lock goes on the other side. Like this one:

When Glock shipped them in those OG boxes a locking rod went through the stack to secure them for shipping. Also used in armory storage with a bar though it to secure and stabilize the stacks.
