Obviously there are better safes around but this is the only safe on the Costco website that will fit inside the small closet I am working with.

Here are my max dimensions

Max 52' in tall

Max 20' in x 20' in wide x deep

Well considering for $20 more you can ge this safe that is almost twice the weight.

I think it is a little over priced for what you get.

I would love to get that safe but it wouldn't fit in my closet.

If it has to go there I would cut a little Sheetrock out and make it fit.

well OP... it's better than none. i can see it has to fit your needs so do what you need to. again, better than none!

p.s. why does it have to be in the closet?

You know the safe is not a vault, it won't keep out a determined attacker . . . . but then again most home safe's won't.

The safe WILL keep out any little kids (yours or friends) who come across your closet and it will keep most smash and grab bad guys as well.

If it doesn't fit in your closet, convert your bathroom into a safe room. The good lord gave us rain for showers and small furry critters to crap on and wipe ourselves with.

lol well, if I got the larger bighorn safe I would have to put it in the center of the closet & from the measurements it looks like I would have to take the sliding glass doors off the tracks anytime I wanted to open the safe... or just remove the sliding glass doors altogether... which I wouldn't be opposed to but since it's a rental I have no idea where I would store such large mirrored closet doors... Not to mention the woman who shares the bedroom might not like the idea of no more sliding glass doors on the closet... Hmmm....

One copy of the thread is enough; cross-posting to different forums is un-good.

No, no, the costco bighorn safe will fit easily....and still leave you about 18 feet in both directions and 46 feet in headroom. BTW, you have a huge closet...how big is the bedroom?:)

So what are the thoughts on the Big Horn. Ive been searching for a safe and as of right now it is about the best bang for your buck. Its fire Resitant and under $600... You cant even find a Stack-On with Fire rating for under $700, unless I am looking in the wrong places.

Any reviews from here on it?
