I was at a supermarket south of the border today with my wife to be and noticed the armed guard by the exit (Not unusual for Tijuana) had what looked like a stainless Mini-14. On the way out, I glanced over and noticed a bayonet lug and a distinct barrel band and did a double take. It was an M1 carbine, complete with stainless 30 round magazine and a black synthetic stock. I know this can't be a surplus piece, does anyone know who makes these?

Hmm, maybe a nickel plated commercial version? A full stainless version would have been cool, love those little carbines!

Sounds like a nice looking M1 Carbine!
Maybe it was a 10/22! Jk Jk.

Had to be stainless, looked just like my Stainless Mini from across the store... I'm not a huge .30 carbine fan but after shooting my brother's I have to admit they are pretty cool.

That's interesting, kind of a pump action carbine.
