This is a Savage Model 1907 Manufactured in 1916 with Serial Number 150566. This serial number was part of a group manufactured specifically for the French government during WWI. The French model can be identified by the lanyard ring on the butt of the gun.

The original holster is still in good shape with minor abrasions but still supple and flexible. The marking on the back belt loop is F.E.A. which I believe to be a French Military marking but have not as yet been able to confirm.

Originally Advertised with the slogan "Ten shots quick!", the model 1907 was very popular because, despite its small size, it had a 10 round magazine. A safety lever is located on the left side of the pistol, at the upper rear of the grip. Model 1907s made from 1913 until 1917 had a collared barrel and a "loaded chamber indicator", allowing the shooter to tell by touching the shell ejection port whether a cartridge was chambered. The model 1907 uses no screws (even the grips snap into place) and is simple to strip. In 1912 the model 1907 underwent a major design revision modifying almost every major component.

I have owned this gun for over 30 years. From the lack of ware marks on the working parts of the gun it has not fired that many rounds. I personally have fired only about 12 rounds over the period of ownership. The gun has been mainly in storage. The pictures show the condition quite well and would rate it at 80%. I am new to this forum but have sold 289 items over eBay with 100% positive feedback. I have priced the gun at $295.00. I am happy to answer any questions via email at: dlkorock@comcast.net
