What brand/type bags are you all using to carry your boxes of shells, chokes and other gear while walking the clays course?

Looking for a bag that will fit at least 8 boxes, any recommendations?

I put shells into the pockets of my cargo shorts. That's all the "gear" I carry on the clays course.

Any range bag will do. Sometime I just use a cheap backpack I bought at Wal-Mart.

...how many shells do you fire on a clays course, or how many boxes can you fit in your pants pockets!?

A normal round of sporting clays is 100, but you'll need an extra box (25) in case you have any "no birds".

I put four boxes in my bag, and one in my shooting vest pocket.

There are four gussetted pockets. I can fit 25 rounds in each pocket. I'm not saying it's the best method of carrying shells, it's just what I used. I may get a vest that also has large pockets so I can split the shells for better weight distribution.

I guess its just because I'm starting off on clays and each station is a practice/learning station for me where I am carrying at least 200 shells or 8 boxes...not that I have been using all of them but almost.

Heck I've gone through 1 box on 1 station just trying to figure out how to hit a presentation I am having problems with!

Backpack is a good cost effective idea to hold them all in...better than multiple trips to the car anyways!

I definatley need to carry more than 100 shells ...hopefully eventually when I get the hang of it and can play a real game through all stations!

There are many several sporting clays shooting bags out that have some nice features over general purpose range bags. For example, provide easy access to a variety of chokes.

You can always go with a shooting cart or do what I do and use a folding grocery cart

One of these at Home Depot is less than $20 and works just fine.

I've seen a bunch of trap shooters using this bag:

A plastic bucket works great for trap and skeet too. Nice handle, easy to carry, toss your spent hulls in for future use.

Pssh, Trapshooters use these: http://shop.sanrio.com/badtz-maru-15-backpack/54384-201012,default,pd.html

(in all seriousness, I use an old Luggage Systems range bag for gear plus up to 10 boxes of shotshells - have an old swedish mechanic's bag and/or a Cabela's 4box carrying bag for the trap field during 100 singles events, and will probably use them again for SC.)

Lol! That bag comes in two flavors...one loaded up like that (all the accessories pre packed including the gloves) for $400 bones!! They also sell the bag alone which I hope most would buy without all the other stuff for $100.

(for either its a 4 month wait)

As far as the wedgie goes....say it aint so!!!
