I thought the last response was funny. Adamson arms in Hayward, CA has a CA legal 6940 at $1330 (sportster 6940). I just got one. I compared it with my department issued 6940 and the one I got. I couldn't see any difference except for the bullet button. I guess Colt renamed it to "Sportster" instead of LE/Military to get around the Cali BS rules.

I think the current Ca. legal models are just marked "m-4",so they are not AW"s by name.
