I want to buy some magazines for my G.I. .45, a remake of the 1911a1. It only has 7+1 capacity so I don't want any magazines to be sticking out of the bottom.

Anyone in my area?

The 8 round magazines are externally the same size as the 7 rounders.

I may have a lead on some old, original military issue magazines. Would you be interested or are you looking for newer, commercial mags?

I'm looking for newer commercial. I'll start buying old issued mags when I get a real 1911.

I know of this place for mags. Looks like pretty good deals.

That's the first place I checked. I'll go through it again just to be sure. Thanks.

Natchez Shooting Supply usually has hard to beat prices on Chip McCormick mags and other brands.

I like the Mecgar 8 rounders in my 1911, especially the full-lip follower. Not very authentic, but slick, sturdy, and reliable.

I got mine at CDNN - all the 1911 mags are under Colt:
