This is the one I'm looking forward to. I'd prefer a heavy bbl but if the price is right I'd like get a 20" A2 Upper.

This upper would be ideal for a Blackwater rifle build.

1 for me too. I've been putting off building my stag lower
since 12/05. Somehow I don't think I'll see a better deal
than this. My wife didn't even complain (much) after she
saw "Regularly: $665.00 - Order Today for $395.00".

If I didn't already buy an upper from Bushmaster this week ($385 ORC upper) I'd jump on this one, too.. it's calling so bad.. but... but.. oh heck. I need to go to bed before I do something stupid. :D

YOU GUYS ARE EVIL!!!!

*just ordered one*

I never thought I would buy something like this..... BUT... sh*t... this is such a good deal.... 20" 1x7 barrel.... I can easily build a SDM-R with this.... and the cost of the whole upper assembly is almost like the cost of my Mk12 Mod 1 SPR Douglas barrel only....

<$400... completed upper including the carry handle.... just that is a $100 item.... *INSANE*

Can't even make it THAT price even with del-ton or so... low cost builder...

Now, my question is... is it a chrome-lined barrel?

I hope this is TRUE

Bushmaster Barrels... are the finest AR15/M16 type barrels made - machined from Chrome-Moly Vanadium steel - Rockwell C26 to 33 hardened. And we now offer 20"/24" Heavy Barrels in Stainless Steel! Most Bushmaster barrels are hard chrome lined (except the Stainless Steel barrels) to offer corrosion resistance in the bore and chamber. Chrome is more than twice as hard as barrel steel and effectively doubles barrel life with proper care (exactly why the military specifies the process). Chrome’s lubricity (i.e. “slipperiness”) reduces friction, increases velocity, aids in chambering, extraction, and speeds barrel cleaning. Bushmaster barrels are manganese phosphate finished (again except the Stainless) to guard against exterior rust or corrosion, and to provide the matte black, non reflective finish found on quality military arms.

I just wish I could hide the purchase from the wife.............I wouldn't actually do that. That is just askin' for trouble. :D The one thing that make it tempting is the 1/7 twist rate.

Just curious, how is everybody gonna set these up? I was thinking NM sights, free float handguards, sling...high power matches!

Add a DD12.0 and build a SDM-R ....

OR

Add a ARMS #59 SIR rail and build a Blackwater/Bushmaster Rifle

If I were going to setup a match rifle or use a free float, I'd use a heavier barrel. I got an upper to make a nice simple A2 build. A2 top, A2 grip, A2 stock. I've already got an A1 retro and an M4 clone, plus a few other misc configurations.

According to Cajun Mojo at arf.com:

"It DOES come with flash supressor attached. 5.56 chamber, Chrome lined bore and chamber. They sold more than they had barrels for. Some may take up to 4-5 weeks for delivery.

Yes, I bugged the guys at Bushmaster this morning on the phone. I probably wasn't the only one, and they were very friendly.

Thanks for a good deal."

Damn I just memmbered to check their site to see what it was and it's already sold out. DAMN! I would have loved to pick that upper up at that price. Put a FF rail on it that goes up to the front sight or flush with it. DAMN IT!

Jicko
03-23-2007, 10:37 AM
I got in on the Government Profile upper from last night, but wish I had known about that OCR upper last week as well. It would have been nice to have gotten two very different style uppers at these prices!

You win some, and you lose some... u can't win it all.... heh hee:D

Maybe if you bought 2 last nite, you can put that up for trade... I had heard that some people prefer the 20" upper than the OCR upper and are willing to trade...

Just curious, how is everybody gonna set these up? I was thinking NM sights, free float handguards, sling...high power matches!

On the ORC upper:

YHM 4-rail free-float lightweight rifle-length handguards, with HK diopter iron sights. Probably with a MM-AR and either an A2 or stubby stock.
