I have a bottle of this stuff (by Birchwood Casey) and

YES I ALREADY CONDUCTED A SEARCH.

I was wondering about using this on SS bbls. Specifically, experience from experts.

I noticed a thread or two nay-saying on using ammonia-infused cleaning agents on stainless steel bbls. So my question is:

Is it safe to use once in awhile for the brushing, and then mop it out post-haste?

and

Does the stuff pit SS only if left in for prolonged (more than 5 min) time periods?

or

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should (or if I ) use it (ie: brass brush, bristly brush, just on patches...)

or should I leave it for the blued steel?

I use ammonia solvents in stainless steel, specifically Butch's Bore Shine and Montana Xtreme. I have left Montana Xtreme soaking in a SS barrel for longer than an hour. The creators claim that the solvents are barrel safe for extended periods of time. I'll take their word on it considering all the benchrest shooters do. I use patches and brushes (both bronze bristle and nylon bristle).
