Does anyone know of a good source for bulk 00 buckshot shells? I can walk into walmart and buy 100 birdshot shells (federal or winchester) for 16 bucks, but the cheapest buckshot I have found online has been at Cabelas (http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=cchart_buck_shot-cat20841&id=0037455216106a&navCount=2&podId=0037455&parentId=cat20841&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IH&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat20841).
Thats .16 cents/shell vrs .46 cents/shell for bird vrs buck. Seems like there has to be a better deal out there?

The cheapest I've been able to find is the Nobelsport stuff on ammunitiontogo.com. I havent used it yet though so I cant say how it groups. Runs about $40 per 100. Wolf costs a little more but its decent.

I dont think you're going to find buckshot that cheap anywhere.

Been trying to find this out too. I just go with Winchester Super X at Wal-mart. After shipping with that link you gave from Cabela's, it comes to pretty much the same (Cabela's vs. Wal-mart).

Shotgun shells besides birdshot/target shot get quite expensive. As for SLUGS though, Wolf is probably the cheapest. 00 Buck you might want to go with federal or winchester ranger is you can find em for sale anywhere.

We're talking home defense right?

Saw this stuff on sportsmansguide, I guess it's that same Nobelsport mentioned above. Dunno if it is any good or not but it's cheap.

http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=293300

$33.97 for 100rnds, 00 buck, $79.97 for 250rnds.

When you get a chance to fire some of that stuff, let us know how it patterns out to 25 yds. I've been wanting to get some but I have enough SG ammo for now and am wondering how good/bad it works...

Rather funny story, a few months ago, I got my 1st shotgun. I bought a couple boxes of Wolf 00, Winchester 00, Remington 00, all locally... Then a bunch of buddies invited me to shooting for the weekend... Buckshot required in bulk... Went looking online, and settled on the Estate from Cabelas (at the time on sale for $99 w/$9.75 shipping) 250rnd cases.

Anyway, I recently went to in an indoor gun range, and found the Wolf, Winchester, and Remington, out of my 18.5" barrel was basically splatter paint at 15 yards... the Estate on the other hand, still did about a 5" pattern. (at 7 & 10 yrds all the ammo was the same).

All I can say is "TRY" several different brands of ammo. Before you buy in bulk... or just hope for alot of luck, as I ended up with!
