I am looking for a big safe as the one I have right now is not cutting it. I currently have a Amsac 12gun but I have about 30 firearms and im getting paranoid of storing alot of them in gun cabinets and closets. I am going to be getting about $600 in money i never expected to see again so i am going to use that money plus the sale of of my current safe ( about $300 ) to purchase a new safe. I want a big one in the price range of about $900-1100 will store and bolt down in my garage. I am local to the south bay and perfer a company that will deliver , any suggestions ? Thanks!

Do you plan on adding a safe to your current one or are you looking for a 30 gun safe to replace yours? Your price range may be a little low if that is what you are looking for. I have a Hall's safe...they are out of Auburn but deliver. http://hallsafe.com/

For that price range Costco has some decent safes Probably the best safe you will find for a $1000. I was just looking at this (http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11468049) safe last week. There is a demo video on that page that shows interiors shots so you can get an idea of what you can fit in there. Putting 30 guns in a safe at that price range is going to be a challenge, but I'd imagine you could stuff 30 guns in that thing.

Neither of my local Costcos had any of the winchester left. It was either the huge one, that I linked, or a very small handgun sized safe.

They have nice safes. I called and the one they had that compared to the costco 6030El was 1500 "on sale" and the lady said it had 12 gauge steel as opposed to the Big Horn that has 10 gauge.

I like to buy American, but I am having a hard time finding anything comparable to the Big Horn 6030EL for the same price range. 999.99 for 10 gauge steel, 700 lbs, 70 minute rating, etc.

Shipping is included in the price. I purchased the smaller safe on sale. Delivery was to the garage, quick and painless.

Save a little more and buy a Sturdy; you won't regret it.

that's what i was going to suggest, but dynamic seems pretty set on the price, and he cannot get a big enough sturdy for that price range.

I got a cannon from Costco about 2 years ago and love it. It's like 60Tx36Lx24D

Was $799 shipped. I asked the shipping dude to bring it in the garage and he dumped it where i wanted off his pallet jack. I gave him a soda or $20 (can't remember) and it went well.

From what I've found, the advertised capacity of safes are over rated.

A 30 long gun safe will hold 15 long guns comfortably unless you also have scoped rifles,
Then the total goes down!

what ever size you think you need, go at least one, if not two sizes bigger

Costco has them on sale sometimes. Look for it on their website. I had one delivered for $450, fireproof for 30 minutes, 16 rifles capacity lost of space, electronic key.

I like this one too but do not want the electric lock.

There are people that have bought them and contacted the company before shipping and had them switch out the lock for no charge.

Change of plan, Im buying this big boy , holds "51" guns, looks like I have enough space to store some ammo in there as well.

Yes, BUT even better, they have the same exact safe at Costco for $799 !!!!!

i am going to pick it up tomorrow, rented a bobtail truck with lift gate, should only be about $60 for that .
