The other day I was at the local shooting range and there was a SIG-Sauer SSG 3000 which was in the back awaiting pickup by one of their customers. For all i know it could have been for someone in law enforcement or military....

I checked on SIG's website and couldn't find additional information about it. Has anyone here shot this awesome looking rifle or had any experience with it? Also, does anyone know what they cost and if they are Kalifornia legal? I'm sure it's quite an expensive piece of hardware!

The SSG3000 is a very nice piece of kit.

Of course it's KALI ok - it's a bolt action gun. US guns come with a Mcmillan stock, european guns have a laminated wooden stock with an exopy type paint finish. Both stocks are ventilated.

In the states they are sold in levels of accessories with bipods and scopes and with out. I think a loaded one is close to $4K?

You can get flash suppressors and the barrels interchange very quickly. There was a time when CDNN was dumping spare barrels, slings, mirage bands, magazines and a trick 22 calibre conversions for silly cheap.

Those days are long gone :(

Very slick guns overall ~ never really hit it big over here. Would I buy one? Eventually, though I'd have to get past the cheesey action-man grip stuff they put on the stock. I prefer the SSG69's (though flawed) I have a nostalgia for them. The best SWS is the AI AW series, though a good custom build in a REM700 clone would probably shoot better.

If ur willing to dish out 4k for a bolt rifle then go with an Accuracy International.

^^^^ oww..... my wallet hurts.....

Screw that idea. If i'm going to buy long distance sniper variant rifle, i'm going to be buying a Springfield M1A White Feather. It's been proven by Sgt. Carlos in Vietnam that it really knows how to reach out and touch someone. Plus the M14 which it's based on is without a doubt one of the best rifles ever designed IMO.

The Sig is a good rifle, but for the price I'd go with an AI, Sako or a custom stick. Caveat on impactguns. They have had complaints in the past about taking your payment and then informing you of their mistake about having items in stock.

For a sniper rifle, I purchased a green Sako trg-22 (.308) for 2000.00. It came with a muzzle break and and 2 factory 10 round mags. I added a factory bipod, and scope rings, purchased a nightforce scope. It is an awesome weapon! I enjoy shooting it and it;s very rewarding to hit targets at
800 yards!
