I have a 452 Varmint in .17HMR, and I LOVE IT. What's the difference with the 'military'... just the built-in iron sights? Trigger adjustable for more than just weight?

that looks alot like they one they had for sale at insights in artesia, did you pick it up from them? i was really considering it, if you did, thanks for letting me not spend that cash!

nice looking rifle, it probably shoots just as good!

Doubt it, he hails from down near the border with Messico ;-)

I have the same rifle and LOVE it. Here is a great place to get some CZ 542 stuff:

http://cz452.com/

Eric Brooks is a member over at Rimfirecentral and he has some cool stuff. I have his ghost ring rear sight and with it I can hit clays regularly at 100 yards. I also have his trigger kit, but have yet to install it because the stock trigger is so nice. I also just got some of his weaver rail adapters and they sure are nice, but haven't had a chance to mount them yet (just got them like an hour ago).

It's a great gun, you are going to love it.

Dude...so you're the one. I saw that rifle several weeks back at Turner's Kearney Mesa. I was short of funds then so I couldn't do anything. I went back last Friday and it was gone.

Funny thing is that I ask one of the staff if they have any CZ 452 in 22 lr and he proceed to show me various brands of 22 lr ammo. I guess he missed the CZ452 part. :D

Oh well... at least that rifle now has a good home.:)

Having CZs kind of snuk up on me. Bought a 97B pistol as the house gun & have gone on to a few 452s (the Varmint in 17 HMR is extremely accurate) and 550s as well as 2 CZ Dan wessons. I think they make a great line of guns. Plain old fashioned wood & blued steel.

Anybody know how to take that bolt apart? I have a similar rifle in .22 that was made by norinco under the name Clayco and I cannot get the bolt apart. Nothing on the internet about it, and I would like to restore the rifle.

The bolt looks exactly the same.

Whoohoo... just got it apart, for the first time ever. That was my first rifle I ever bought at 18, and its been waiting for a restore for forever. I slipped on a cliff lost my balance and lost my rifle, it slid off the cliff and got hung on a bush and it sat for 4 months in the weather before I could get a rope and get down there to get it.

Cr*p another project. Oh well.

I have a CZ-452 Ultralux, I highly recommend the Brook's trigger kit. I have a great 1.75# pull with minimum pre-travel and no creep.
