I've got a USGI surplus A1 upper I could probably be talked out of. I'm in Madera.

edit to add:

It's a complete upper, may or may not come with BCG / CH. Late 70's / early 80's production, probably as replacement parts. Barrel is 1:12 C MP Chrome Bore marked. A1 birdcage, triangle handguards, large round FA button rather than the teardrop. Bore is in good shape, doesn't have too many rounds through it. BCG that may or may not come with it appears to be a Colt bolt with a generic SP1 (I think) style carrier, no markings. CH is generic as well.

Let me know if you're interested.

I had an interest in putting an A1 together like the one that I carried 30 years ago. If you really look on the internet you can find everything. I know because I did. To build a top notch A1 I came up with a figure of about $800.00 for all of the parts minus shipping costs and labor.

I remember when the A2s came out and everyone pretty much welcomed the changes over the A1 but it would still be nostalgic to have and shoot one.
