So I was in turners looking for a heavy barrel bolt action saw the Mp15 sport on sale and couldn't pass up on the deal. I was a little skeptic at first but turned out to have no regrets after reading more on it and having a range day. havnt had it more then a month and already picked up the magpul moe handguard and hogue rubber grip. Only other plans are a different stock and carry handle. After searching I wasn't able to find a prefered brand but heard a lot of negative about the cheap ones. Any insight on a good functional carry handle (sight wise) . Enough bable onto a pic.

The sight you have on there looks to be just fine, but if your looking for a carry handle any splintered A, AF, or proofed mil spec one will do just fine. Used they go for 30-65 depending on condition and new for 70 and up. Check the FST forums here and other AR sites/forums.

Congrats!

You can usually find used Colt carry handle take-off's for around $50 in the for sale sections.

I'd keep the LMT type BUIS and get an Optic. For what you are going to pay for cosmetic upgrades like stocks and magazines, you should invest that money in a good optic. Change the "look" of the rifle after the important stuff is bought.

Awww. Thanks for the oh so helpful advice guy who's only been signed up for 14 months longer then I. Have a great holiday!

Thats a nice rifle youve got there. I would keep the sight you have already, as it's pretty close in function to a carry handle sight. Buy ammo, lots of it.

Congrats on the new rifle. I just purchased my first AR and I second getting a sight before swapping other components because you gain capability. A $70 bushnell red dot (http://www.amazon.com/Bushnell-Trophy-TRS-25-1xRed-Riflescope/dp/B00200E0HM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1324467102&sr=8-1) is a great option and works well. I recently purchased a leupold 3x9 tactical scope as well for longer ranges and am looking forward to testing it.

Couldn't resist, had to go with a Magpul CTR and Magpul RVG (thanks Riflegear!), put them on tonight. I like the iron sights, for some reason I don't have the itch to get an optic

Carry handles are plentiful in the for sale section because people often scrap them for a BUIS / optic set up. I HIGHLY recommend the Primary Arms M3 red dot with cantilever mount. They are less than $100 and work great besides looking cool.

that's what i run and after 2 years and over 4k rounds of hard use still zeroed and still running the same battery. good stuff at a good price. that being said i have an aimpoint also...lol:D

I may look into that. Thanks.

I'm mainly using it for plinking so been trying to be cheapo, hence the magpul stuff lol. If I could grab a decent optic for under a bill I think I would be all over it.
